Note to myself

DMC has "glow in the dark" wool and next project has to be a "glow in the dark" bear.
I know already which pattern I am going to make. So off to the haberdashery to get some wool.
Next project is going to be....: an icicle-mohair-bear
It is a pity there aren't a lot of Dutch patterns available on the web, luckly I understand the English patterns  .

Visit to UK

Last weekend I visited my in-laws in the UK and because we travel about 8 hours each way I decided to take a crochetproject with me. That would keep me buzzy in the car and on the ferry.
I took the pattern for the "Monique bear"  with me.
In Coventry UK, I had to look for a craftshop to buy more wool so I was able to crochet more on the way back and this is the result: Not 1 ... not 2.... but 4 Monique bears were born.

I have to admit, I thought this pattern would be to difficult to follow for me ( a beginner and my native language is Dutch) but it worked out quite well. And the results came out fine ....I think they did, don't know about you.
I like the fact that the legs and arms can move.  My friends love them.

Vorig weekend zijn we op bezoek geweest bij mijn schoonouders die in UK wonen. Van hieruit duurt de trip ongeveer 8 uur. Ik besloot mijn haakwerk mee te nemen. Dat zou mij bezig houden tijdens het rijden en de ferry.
Ik nam het patroon van de "Monique bear"  mee. Die was vlugger af dan ik verwacht had.
In Coventry heb ik een hobbyshop moeten bezoeken om meer wol te halen zodat ik nog wat kon haken op de terugweg. En dit is het resultaat: Niet 1 ... niet 2 .... maar 4 beren heb ik gemaakt.
Ik moet toegeven, ik dacht dat het patroon moeilijker was. Het resultaat mag gezien worden.... allez dat dan ik, weet niet wat jullie ervan vinden. Leuk is ook dat hun armen en benen bewegen. Mijn vrienden vinden ze ook leuk.

Innocent "hat of the week"

I took a break from amigurumi to help to knit hats for the Innocent "goed gemutst" action. And can you believe it..... they picked one of the hats I knitted out as hat of the week. As reward I received a voucher for a free Innocent drink

Ik nam wat tijd om te helpen breien voor de Innocent Goed gemutst campagne. En kan je het geloven.... ze hebben een van mijn mutsjes gekozen als mutsje van de week. Al beloning kreeg ik een voucher voor een gratis Innocent drankje. Leuk..

Pinguin

After that... I tried a pinguin. Found the pattern on a Dutch site about amigurumi http://www.amigurumis.nl/pinguin.html. Next to him you see a 1 euro coin, that way you can see how small he is. I gave the pinguin as a present to a girl living in the neighbourhood.

Dan... probeerde ik een pinguin. Ik vond het patroon op een Nederlandstalige amigurumi site. Naast hem zie je een euro op de foto. Zo kan je zien hoe groot hij is. Die penguin gaf ik als geschenkje aan een meisje dat in de straat woont. Ze vond die reuze leuk.

Suncatchers angel baby...

My crochet stitches were getting more even so I thought I have a go at "the angel baby" pattern I found on http://www.suncatchereyes.net/Pattern%20Angel%20Baby.html . And I was astonished  that worked out quite well too. I didn't put a halo on the head. But I added a bib.

My husband finds it funny I make him hold my creations to take pictures.

Next

To be honest it was years ago since I took a crochet hook in my hand so I needed to refresh my knowledge by doing a lot of mice before I got the hang of it.

My first creation

To start off I tried to make a mouse. I used a pattern I found on Annemarie's blogspot http://annemariesbreiblog.blogspot.com/p/pattern-mouse-patroon-muis.html and I think it turned out very well.

Amigurumi

The amigurumi bug got me and I thought it would be nice to write down my experiences and show pictures of my amigurumis.
